The Lacassane Company
is a progressive land management company located in Southwest Louisiana.
With several thousand acres of property located in Jefferson Davis and Cameron Parishes, we strive to realize the fullest potential of the property through cattle grazing, rotational crop harvesting, and oil and gas leasing.
An integral part of our responsibility with regard to managing the property is to ensure that the natural habitats are preserved. We are actively involved in wetlands restoration through our two mitigation banks: Lacassane Coastal Prairie and the Bill Jackson Longleaf Pine Savanna. The Lacassane Company is also working to produce several Louisiana native seed species in conjunction with the Louisiana Native Plant Initiative.
Mitigation
The Lacassane Company has been designated by the Corps of Engineers as a provider of mitigation
Oil & Gas
Soon after the original organizers of the Lacassane Company purchased the property, they began to investigate revenue sources
Farming
The company property is divided into two separate "plants" (short for crop plantation).
Buildings
The Greenhouse, originally built around 1836 by Alexander Hebert and Clarisse Broussard, was officially entered into the National Registry of Historic Places on December 8, 1997.
